Record low measured at Kvilda on Sunday night

The monitoring station in the town of Kvilda in the Šumava Mountains registered a temperature of minus 8.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday night, the coldest place in the Czech Republic at the time, according to a report by the Czech Hydrometeorological Office. Meteorologists warn that morning frosts may continue for the next few days, with snow expected in the mountain regions. A gradual warming is expected after May 20th.
