Recently appointed children’s ombudsman seeks members for youth advisory team
Recently appointed children’s ombudsman Martin Beneš is looking for members for his advisory team, with applications open to young people aged 12 to 18, the Czech News Agency reports.
The group will have around 30 members and meet four times a year. Its role will be to bring children’s and young people’s views into discussions on issues that affect them. Applications are open until May 18th, with the first meeting planned for June 22nd.
Topics are expected to include online safety, mobile phone bans in schools and juvenile criminal responsibility. Beneš said the initiative is intended to give children and young people a greater voice in public life and allow them to express their views on issues that concern them.
