Rare white-tailed eagle spotted in Milovice

The rare white-tailed eagle has been spotted in the former military area in Milovice in central Bohemia in recent weeks, Dalibor Dostál from the NGO Česká Krajina reported on Friday.

The largest domestic bird of prey has almost disappeared from Czech nature in the last century, but in recent decades its number have been increasing. Currently, an estimated 500 to 600 sea eagles live in Czechia. The Milovice nature reserve is probably part of their wintering grounds.
