Rakušan not happy with Farsky’s decision to accept Fulbright internship, keep mandate

The leader of the Mayors and Independents coalition party Vit Rakušsan says he is not happy about  MP Jan Farský's decision to go to the United States for an eight-month Fulbright internship program without giving up his mandate in the lower house. Following widespread criticism from opposition as well as coalition representatives, Mr. Rakušan said the decision was unfortunate and he was torn between losing an experienced politician and hurting party interests. When Mr. Farsky announced the decision he emphasized the benefits it would bring, saying he would fly back for important votes in the lower house.
