Question for September

September marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest Czech writers of all time, Josef Škvorecký. He spent almost half of his life in exile, where he went after the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Soviet-led Warsaw Pact troops. Write down the name of the most important publishing house of the Czechoslovak exile, which he founded in Toronto together with his wife Zdena Salivarová.

Question for August

The Czech Republic has not had many Olympic successes in recent years. And no Czech athlete has ever been able to emulate the success of Věra Čáslavská. How many medals did this legendary gymnast win at the Olympic Games?

Altogether 11 (7 gold and 4 silver) - at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo where she took gold medals in the all-around, the balance beam, and the vault. The Czechoslovak team finished second. Four years later at the Mexico Games, she won gold medals in the individual all-around, the vault, the uneven parallel bars, and the floor exercise and silver medals in the balance beam and team competition.)
