Public dinner party planned for Charles Bridge Tuesday
A 500-metre table is set to be placed on Prague’s Charles Bridge on Tuesday evening for a public dinner party that organisers say will mark a farewell to the difficult coronavirus period. People are being encouraged to bring food to the event, which will run from 6 to 10 pm.
Organiser Ondřej Kobza was quoted by news site iDnes.cz as saying visitors could share food with strangers in an “act of trust” following the coronavirus emergency. Prague 1 mayor Petr Hejma said the table – covered in white table cloths – would be separated into different sections and hand sanitizer would be available.
