Protest planned as gallery Kunsthalle Praha opens to public

The new Prague art gallery Kunsthalle Praha opened to the public on Tuesday. The institution is located in a former electricity transformer station in the city’s Klárov district. It was reconstructed at a cost of over CZK 800 million by Petr Pudil, a one-time coal baron, and his wife Pavlína.

A protest against Kunsthalle is due to take place on Tuesday evening. In a statement, the organisers said they could not close their eyes to oligarchs laundering their money through art.
