President's Office says it will no longer provide information to selected media outlets
The Office of the President will no longer provide any information to selected media outlets, President Miloš Zeman’s chancellor, Vratislav Mynář, announced on Friday. These outlets in are Respekt magazine, the news site Seznam Zprávy, the newspaper Deník N and two Czech Television politics programs - 168 hodin and Reportéři ČT.
The chancellor explained the decision to keep some of the leading politics media outlets out of the loop by saying that they attempted to acquire information from Office of the President employees in a “non-standard and unserious way”. Representatives of the shunned outlets deny the accusation.
