President Zeman meets with his Portuguese counterpart

President Miloš Zeman, who is on a two-day official visit to Portugal, has met with his Portuguese counterpart Marcel de Sousa. The two heads of state discuss migration crisis and agreed on the necessity to reform the EU. According to Mr.Zeman, the reform could be initiated by smaller EU member states, such as the Czech Republic and Portugal. He also said Europe needs to better protect its outer borders and help immigrants in their home countries.

On Thursday the Czech president is scheduled to attend the Czech-Portuguese business forum and open an exhibition on Charles IV at St George’s Castle in Lisbon.
