President Zeman to be transferred to standard care unit on Monday
Czech President Miloš Zeman, who is currently in the Military University Hospital in Prague, will be transferred from the acute care ward to a standard bed on Monday, Prague Castle spokesman Jiří Ovčáček informed via press release on Wednesday. This should mean that the president will be able to accept visitors, the Czech News Agency writes.
President Zeman was already transferred from the ICU unit to the hospital‘s rehabilitation department last week. However, the department where he is currently housed does not allow for visitations due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. This meant that the president had to communicate with leading politicians via telephone.
The president was moved to the hospital last month. According to Dr Pavel Pafko, who is a member of the council of doctors dealing with the president’s health, Miloš Zeman arrived in the facility severely malnourished, showing signs of liver disease.
