President signs into force welfare reform merging state benefits

President Petr Pavel has signed into force a welfare reform law that will merge several state benefits into one. The “super-benefit” that will be paid out from October, means that instead of housing allowances and supplements, subsistence allowances and child allowances, labour offices will pay just one state social assistance benefit. The Labour Ministry argues that this will give it a better overview of the support individual persons or families are getting and prevent abuse of the social welfare system.
