President Pavel signs CZK 50,000 increase in parental allowance to CZK 400,000

The parental allowance will increase by CZK 50,000 to CZK 400,000 starting next year. In the case of twins or multiple births, the amount will be doubled.

The increase is part of a government amendment to the state social support law, which President Petr Pavel signed today. The President’s Office announced that he had signed the legislation. Part of the opposition unsuccessfully sought to add an automatic indexation mechanism for the allowance to the bill.

The higher parental allowance will apply only to parents of children born on or after January 1, 2027.
