President Pavel: Russia will remain the greatest threat to Europe in the coming decades
Petr Pavel said on Wednesday at the Fragile Security conference that Russia will remain the greatest security threat to Europe in the coming decades and that security cannot be postponed until tomorrow. He also stated that Europe had grown accustomed to comfort and security and had relied on the United States, which according to Pavel no longer wants to be the guarantor that solves everything for Europe.
Pavel recalled that 435 days have passed since Ukraine, which Russia attacked in February 2022, agreed to the American proposal for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. “And Russia’s response? Excuses, lies and ultimatums,” he said. According to him, history is now returning, great powers are once again testing borders and pushing them where they encounter the least resistance.
