President Pavel to give police statement over controversial text messages
President Petr Pavel is expected to give a statement to police next week regarding the content of text messages sent by Foreign Minister Petr Macinka (Motorists) to one of the president’s advisers.
The president previously described the messages from Macinka as a possible attempt at blackmail, adding that he had submitted them to the police for review and also forwarded them to lawyers to assess whether they could constitute a criminal offence. In an interview for Czech Radio on Friday, Mr. Pavel said that the results of the legal analysis are not yet available.
