President Pavel on first foreign visit to Slovakia

President Petr Pavel held talks with his Slovak counterpart President Zuzana Čaputová in Bratislava on Monday. The two heads of state discussed the possibility of making joint foreign trips to further their countries’ interests and closer cooperation in fighting disinformation.

On his first foreign trip abroad the newly-inagurated Czech president also met with the Slovak prime minister, Eduard Heger and laid flowers at a memorial plaque to the murdered Slovak journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiance.

Czechia and Slovakia, who spent over 70 years in a common state, enjoy above-standard relations.
