President Pavel appoints 60 new judges at Prague Castle
President Petr Pavel appointed 60 new judges today at Prague Castle, with women once again forming the majority—40 of the appointees are women. Of the new general court judges, the largest group, 19, will serve in the capital.
Judges are officially appointed by the President, who administers their oath of office. This marks the third time Pavel has appointed general court judges, following 52 appointments last November and 57 in February. On those occasions, he urged the new judges to communicate their decisions clearly, emphasizing that transparency is vital to maintaining the credibility of state institutions.
