President Pavel at AI Summit in Paris: AI could revolutionize the world if used responsibly

Speaking at the AI Summit in Paris on Monday, Czech President Petr Pavel emphasized AI’s potential to revolutionize sectors like healthcare, energy, and education. However, he also warned about the risks, noting that some authoritarian regimes use AI to monitor and control citizens.

The Czech head of state called for Europe to invest more in AI, saying that, if managed responsibly, it could lead to breakthroughs that improve lives, protect the planet, and enhance education.

The summit, which began on Monday, brings together nearly 100 countries to discuss AI’s impact on security, healthcare, and innovation. This is the first time Czechia has been invited. On Tuesday, a session with world leaders will focus on global AI governance. Mr. Pavel is also set to have several bilateral meetings.
