Prague now in highest risk category on national Covid map
Prague is now classed red on a national Covid-19 map operated by the Ministry of Health. Red is the highest level in the country’s “traffic light” rating system and signals growing or persistent community transmission of the coronavirus.
Ten districts are now rated amber, meaning they are medium risk as regards Covid-19. The map was updated on Friday evening on the basis of data from September 8 to 14.
The minister of health, Adam Vojtech, said that the reproduction number of the virus in Prague was 1.8. He has previously said that if the number reached 2 at national level the country’s schools would be closed. On Monday the national reproduction number was 1.59.
