Prague metro: Jiřího z Poděbrad station reconstruction starts in September

A two-year complete reconstruction of the Jiřího z Poděbrad metro station in Prague’s Vinohrady neighbourhood is due to start on September 1, in part to replace the Soviet-era ‘Leningrad’ escalators, install lifts and provide barrier-free access to platforms.

The last phase of repairs will be the replacement of escalators. Because the Jiřího z Poděbrad station has only one exit, after January 2023 it will be closed for 10 months and metro trains will not stop there.
