Prague mayor calls for limiting of refugee benefits if capacity full
The mayor of Prague, Zdeněk Hřib, has proposed that benefits and grants for Ukrainian refugees be limited in parts of the country that have reached capacity as regards taking people in. The capital has been suffering from a lack of capacity for some time and its leaders have called for a greater sharing of the refugee burden with other regions of the Czech Republic.
Mr. Hřib said on Tuesday that the current situation in Prague was not sustainable and that increased living costs would impact the city’s residents.
