Prague int’l airport passenger traffic fell 79 pct in 2020 to 25-year low due to Covid-19

Václav Havel Prague Airport handled only 3.66 million passengers last year due to coronavirus-related restrictions, an annual drop of 79 percent and the lowest number in 25 years. Passenger traffic had been rising steadily since 2013 and reached a record 17.8 million in 2019. Record highs were also recorded for the months of January and February 2020, with over 2 million passengers served each month.

The most frequent flights from Prague’s international airport last year were to the United Kingdom, where almost 525,000 passengers travelled. This was followed by France and Russia, which were about half full. As for city destinations, London ruled with more than 311,000 passengers, followed by Amsterdam and Paris.
