Prague City Hall bans pro-Palestinian demonstration over controversial slogan

The Prague City Hall has banned a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Prague due to take place on December 5, because of the use of the controversial slogan "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free". The city hall authorities said the slogan was unacceptable since it implied the destruction of Israel.

The Czech Ministry of the Interior has previously stated that shouting or holding up banners with this slogan may be considered a criminal offence. The organizers of the demonstration plan to file a lawsuit against Prague City Hall over the decision.
