Prague City Hall approves plan to purchase up to 200 new trams
The Council of Prague City Hall on Monday approved a plan to purchase up to 200 new trams and asked the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) to commission the relevant tender, website Zdopravy.cz reports. It is the first time in 17 years that a tram tender will be held in Prague.
Councillor for Transport Adam Scheinherr said that City Hall will order 40 carriages to be delivered by 2026, with the contract allowing for a further purchase of 160 vehicles depending on need.
