Prague centre for victims of sexual violence planned

The first specialized centre in the Czech Republic for victims of sexual violence is being set up in Prague and should come into operation next autumn. Four other centres for victims of domestic violence will be opened or expanded in Brno, Most, České Budějovice and Ostrava.

The plans were announced on Monday by Radan Šafařík, head of the gender equality department in the government office, and NGO officials who will run the centres, ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, on November 25.
