Prague Castle opens doors to visitors for exclusive tours

Prague Castle announced that on Saturday, November 30, visitors will have free access to the castle’s majestic staterooms, along with a rare opportunity to explore both the historic halls where Czech presidents meet international dignitaries. This special event promises a festive experience open to families and solo travelers alike in the heart of Prague.

At the end of November, Prague Castle will open its doors to the public for a special one-day event, granting free access to its typically restricted staterooms. Visitors will have the chance to explore the grand halls where President Petr Pavel meets with dignitaries and hosts official events.

Guests can also enjoy complimentary access to Prague Castle’s regular visitor circuit, which includes St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica, and the Golden Lane. The castle’s permanent exhibitions will also be open, offering access to the history of Prague Castle.

You can also expect to see areas adorned with festive Christmas decorations, enhancing the holiday ambiance. Visitors can join the “Christmas Walk through Prague Castle” as part of the Advent celebration, for example.

There will also be options for the whole family. Those who are visiting the terrace near the Prague Castle Riding Hall will find the charming Bethlehem Yurt, created by the Forman Brothers Theatre, along with children’s art workshops. Similarly, Rožmberk Palace will feature “The Fragile Beauty of Christmas,” an exhibit showcasing traditional Czech holiday decorations.

The event will run from 9 am to 5 pm The first time Prague Castle held a similar event was in March, attracting over 15,000 visitors.
