Prague Castle mass held for late Slovak director Juraj Jakubisko

The funeral of Slovak film director Juraj Jakubisko, who died last Friday at the age of 84, took place at St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague Castle on Saturday. The mass was celebrated by Cardinal Dominik Duka.

Apart from his family and friends, also present were former Czech president Václav Klaus with his wife Livia and a number of Czech actors and film directors.

Jakubisko, who lived in Prague for many years, was one of Slovakia's best-known filmmakers, often referred to as "Fellini of the East". During his career he made dozens of feature films and documentaries.
