Prague building car parks by terminus metro stations, raising prices of central ones

Prague is building car parks on the outskirts of the capital by the terminus stations along Metro lines to encourage drivers to use public transport for part of their commute.

At the same time, the city is raising prices at 20 more central car parks. City councillors say they need to raise prices to cover rising maintenance costs, but will study the impact of the price increase within a few months.

A new car park near the Černý Most metro station is near completion and another is due to open at the Hostivař metro station within six months with others planned.
