Prague and Central Bohemia leaders against restrictions on movement

The mayor of Prague, Zdeněk Hřib, and the governor of the Central Bohemian Region, Petra Pecková, have made a joint appeal to Prime Minister Andrej Babiš not to bring in restrictions on movement between the two places as part of efforts to combat the spread of Covid-19. The two politicians said that the two regions constituted one functioning agglomeration connected socially, economically and in terms of transport.

The minister of health, Jan Blatný, says new limits on movement between regions are being considered as other measures have failed to make much impact on coronavirus infection rates. The government is due to discuss the matter on Monday.
