Potential foreign students flock to Expolingua languages fair
Hundreds of mostly young people interested in studying abroad descended on Prague's Narodni dùm at the weekend, to visit Expolingua 2001, an international fair of languages, culture and education. Alena Skodova was there and brings back this report:
Visitors were offered information about foreign language studies both in the Czech Republic and abroad. They had the chance to talk with representatives of schools and universities from Europe, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. I went to the Australian stand and spoke with Rachel Porter of the University of Queensland. She told me her university had already developed links with the Czech Republic. There were many students in Narodni Dum on Saturday - mostly girls as far as I noticed - and I stopped one to ask her why she was there.
