Population decline in Czechia continues

The population of the Czech Republic in the first three quarters of this year fell by 3,300 to 10.897 million. Deaths have outnumbered births in record numbers since the country's founding, with migration from abroad mitigating the population decline, the Czech Statistics Office reported. Compared to the first three quarters of last year, significantly fewer children were born this year, while the number of deaths was essentially unchanged. The number of marriages decreased, while the number of divorces increased, the report says.
