Popular theatre and film actor Josef Somr dies at 88
Popular theatre and film actor Josef Somr died on Sunday at the age of 88. Over the course of his career, Somr portrayed more than 170 characters in films, with his most famous role probably being the train dispatcher Hubička in Jiří Menzel's Oscar-winning 1966 film Closely Watched Trains. His wife, Alena Somrová, told the Czech News Agency that he spent his final days in the Na Pleši hospital.
