Poll puts three frontrunners for president on almost equal support

An opinion poll published by Czech Television on Sunday evening suggests that Danuše Nerudová, Andrej Babiš and Petr Pavel have around equal support ahead of January’s presidential elections. The Data Collect and Kantar CZ survey indicates 27 percent back Mrs. Nerudová, while the other two candidates received the backing of 26.5 percent of respondents.

Another poll released on Sunday by the STEM agency put Mr. Babiš ahead on 31 percent. However, several surveys have indicated that either Mrs. Nerudová or Mr. Pavel could defeat him in a second round run-off.
