Police shelved Office of President shredding investigation months ago

The Czech police shelved an investigation into the possible leak of classified information from the Office of the President some months ago, the Czech News Agency reported on Wednesday. The force’s organised crime unit ceased looking into the shredding of a classified report back in November, but only announced the move today.

The report centred on explosions at a munitions store in Vrbětice in 2014, which were carried out by Russian agents and left two dead.

Organised crime investigators are now preparing a report to the relevant body over a possible misdemeanour in connection with the matter.
