Police presence beefed up outside Russian Embassy in Prague

Czech police have beefed up their presence around the Russian Embassy in Prague, Novinky.cz reported. The news site said that several police vehicles had appeared around the building in the early hours of Thursday, including riot police vans and vans with cameras.

A spokesperson for the police said that the force was overseeing security on the basis of an assessment of the current situation. Tensions have risen between the two states since the Prague government said Russian agents were behind deadly explosions in Moravia in 2014 and both sides have expelled diplomats from the other.
