Police investigating brutal incident during ice hockey game

The police are investigating an incident which took place in an ice hockey first division game between Liberec and Jihlava last Thursday. While neither was involved in play Jihlava's Frantisek Musil attacked Robert Pospisil of Liberec, causing Pospisil to almost lose part of his little finger. Musil, a former Czech international who played in the NHL for 14 years, is now being investigated on suspicion of intentional bodily harm. Liberec chairman Petr Syrovatka described Musil's attack as brutal, while Jihlava coach Jaroslav Holik - who is also Musil's father-in-law - said Liberec were crying because they lost at home and were just looking for an excuse.
