Police to investigate possible forgery of president’s signature on official document
Police will start investigating a suspicion that a close associate of President Miloš Zeman’s forged a signature on an official document of constitutional importance. The document in question is a letter by which the president convened a meeting of the newly elected Czech lower house for 8 November.
A criminal complaint was filed with the High State Prosecutor's Office in Prague after the letter was shown to journalists by the speaker of the lower house, Radek Vondráček, on Thursday. The criminal complaint, a copy of which started circulating on social media, alleges that the president’s signature doesn’t match his signatures on other documents.
