Police crack down on gang operating illegal gambling establishments

Police officers in Brno have cracked down on an organized criminal gang operating illegal gambling establishments. Officers carried out 17 searches and arrested 12 suspects. They also seized 27 gambling machines, one million crowns in cash and jewelry worth nearly five million crowns. All 12  detainees were charged and two have been remanded in custody. According to the police, the gang organized gambling on slot machines under the guise of betting shops operating without a permit at several locations in Brno.
