Police chief warns force could lose officers due to mandatory vaccination order

The police force could lose up to 10,000 people who refuse to be vaccinated against Covid-19, police chief Jan Švejdar said on Twitter in response to the news that the Czech government is considering the possibility of compulsory vaccination for people over the age of 60 and people in high risk professions such as doctors, nurses, care workers, police officers and soldiers. Švejdar said the police force could not afford such a loss. Close to 82 percent of police force employees have so far received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, the Chief of the General Staff  Aleš Opata said the military would not have a problem with the compulsory vaccination of soldiers, since vaccines are mandatory for some military operations, hence the army already has a high level of inoculation.
