Police charge hoax caller who triggered large security operation in Prague on Thursday

The police have charged the man who made a hoax call on Thursday warning of an armed man, who was reportedly heading from Prague’s Letná to the city centre. The call triggered a large security operation with scores of officers in the streets. The man, who later confessed to making the call as a prank, faces three years in prison for scaremongering, police said on the X network. The incident happened just two days before the anniversary of last year’s tragic shooting at the Faculty of Arts, which left 14 dead and 25 injured.
