Poet Lubomír Tichý wins 38th Jiří Orten Award

The 2025 Jiří Orten Award, which is awarded to talented authors of prose or poetry under the age of thirty, was won on Tuesday by poet Lubomír Tichý. A jury gave first place to his debut poetry collection Místní, published last year by the Fra publishing house. The winner is awarded a prize of 50,000 crowns.

The jury evaluated twenty-seven submitted titles in the 38th edition of the award. Representatives of the organising Association of Czech Booksellers and Publishers announced the winner in the Unijazz Reading Room in Prague's Žižkov district. The award is named after Czech poet Jiří Orten.
