PM:Czechs who want to fight alongside Ukrainians would be guaranteed impunity

Prime Minister Petr Fiala and President Miloš Zeman have agreed to guarantee impunity to Czech nationals who want to go to Ukraine to fight alongside Ukrainians in defense of their country. Prime Minister Fiala told journalists, after Thursdays’ meeting with the president, that he and the head of state had concluded that in view of the risks involved it was not possible to grant collective permission for such an action or grant individual authorization. According to Czech law Czech nationals cannot enlist with a foreign army unless they get individual authorization from the president. Between 250 and 300 individuals have expressed interest in supporting the Ukrainian people in this way.
