PM Fiala: Czechia doesn't agree with EU climate target for 2040
Czechia does not support the EU’s climate goal of cutting emissions by 90 percent by 2040, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Thursday before leaving for the European Council meeting in Brussels.
He added that Czechia will push to delay the ETS2 system and wants the European Commission to provide detailed impact studies.
ANO leader Andrej Babiš, the likely next prime minister, also said he would reject and block the EU climate plan if in office.
