PM does not expect Telecom to be privatised before elections

Meanwhile, Czech Prime Minister Milos Zeman said it was highly unlikely that the Czech government would manage to privatise Czech Telecom before the upcoming June general elections. He said the cabinet would consider the sale again only if there were a strategic investor, not a financial group, that would offer at least 80 billion CZK or 2.5 billion USD for the state's 51-percent stake in the dominant fixed-line operator.

Two weeks ago, the government rejected all bids in a public tender for falling short of its requirements.
