PM: Czech Republic will join EU sanctions against Belarus
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has said the Czech Republic will join the EU sanctions against Belarus by banning Belarusian airlines from flying over the country’s airspace and refrain from flying over Belarusian airspace. Mr. Babiš said it was important that the “act of state terrorism” in which Belarus hijacked a plane to arrest an opposition journalist should not go unanswered.
The incident has been strongly condemned by politicians across the board in the Czech Republic and the Czech authorities have called for a thorough international investigation into the matter.
