PM Babiš on working visit to Algeria to boost trade and defence ties
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš on Monday begins a two-day visit to Algeria aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and developing cooperation in the energy and defence industries.
Mr. Babiš is due to meet with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his counterpart, Sifi Ghrieb. He will also open a Czech-Algerian business forum.
The Czech Republic has traditionally maintained a trade surplus with Algeria, which stood at 2.4 billion crowns in 2024. Its main exports to the North African country include cars and machinery, while imports to the Czech Republic consist primarily of chemical raw materials.
