PM asks ambassadors to seek opportunities in energy sector
The Czech prime minister, Petr Fiala, has called on the country’s ambassadors to look out for previously overlooked opportunities in the energy sector. Speaking at an annual gathering of Czech diplomats in Prague on Monday, Mr. Fiala said they should focus on supplies of raw materials – which Russia was weaponising against the EU – as well as in investments that could help transform the economy.
The PM also said that Czechia needed to help Ukraine withstand Russian aggression with as few losses as possible and to come out on top in the conflict. He said the country’s broader interest was in halting Russian imperialism.
