PM announces new Czech drug against Covid in final stage of approval

A new Czech drug against Covid-19 is in the final stage of getting approval from the Czech Institute for Drug Control, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš told journalists on Thursday morning as he was leaving for a visit to Israel to discuss inoculation and the fight against the coronavirus with his counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu.

The prime minister is accompanied by a delegation of epidemiologists and researchers who will meet with their Israeli counterparts to discuss available means of combatting the pandemic.

Israel is reported to have developed a drug on a similar basis as that in the final stage of approval in the Czech Republic, which is administered orally and through inhalation.

The prime minister said he was also interested in Israel’s vaccine strategy which has given it an edge over others in inoculating its population.
