Plíšková and Muchová through to Wimbledon quarterfinals, Krejčíková exits in fourth round
Czech tennis player Karolína Plíšková advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the first time with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Russian wildcard Liudmila Samsonova. The former World No. 1 never made the last eight in her previous eight appearances at the grass-court major.
Another Czech, Karolina Muchová, advanced to the quarter-finals at for the second consecutive time, thanks to a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Spain’s Paula Badosa.
The French Open champion, Barbora Krejčíková failed to reach the quarterfinals after losing to top ranked Ashleigh Barty 5-7, 3-6 and ending her 15-match winning streak.
