Plíšková moves into WTA tennis top 10 after reaching Wimbledon finals

After reaching the Wimbledon finals, Czech tennis player Karolína Plíšková has moved from thirteenth to seventh place in the WTA women’s tennis rankings. Plíšková is now the best ranked Czech player, moving ahead of former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitová, who has fallen to twelfth place after losing in the first round of this year’s grass Grand Slam.

Roland Garros champion Barbora Krejčíková, who reached the Wimbledon last-16, has moved up to world number 13. However, she is no longer ranked as the best doubles player, falling behind Elise Mertens who won the Wimbledon’s doubles category with her partner Hsieh Su-Wei.
