Plaque unveiled to Mejla Hlavsa for 70th anniversary of birth

A new plaque in honour of Milan “Mejla” Hlavsa, a founder of the underground rock band The Plastic People of the Universe, has been installed in Prague to mark what would have been his 70th birthday on Saturday. The memorial has been placed on the front of Prague’s Radost FX, where he performed in the venue’s nightclub and worked at the music store in the 1990s.

Hlavsa died in January 2001 at the age of just 49.
